Grossjohann Receives 2009 Excellence in International Trade Award from Tech Valley Global Business Network

International Trade Awards recognize local individuals and companies for global success

(Albany) - The Tech Valley Global Business Network (TVGBN) has selected six winners for its 2009 Excellence in International Trade ("Globie") Awards. The Globies recognize individuals or organizations that have demonstrated excellence in international trade, success in conducting business overseas or support for international trade in Tech Valley.

Globie recipients will be honored during the 2009 Excellence in International Trade Awards dinner on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 - 8 pm at the Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia. This year's keynote speaker will be Norm Armour, vice president and general manager, GLOBALFOUNDRIES. In this role, Armour has overall responsibility for the development and execution of Fab 2 at the Luther Forest Technology Campus (LFTC) in Malta, New York.

This year's Globie winners are:

Global Vision, for a company or individual showing significant domestic and international growth potential; development of an innovative model for conducting global business in the manufacturing or service sector; providing significant revenue enhancements or cost controls to their customers; and demonstrating state-of-the-art technologies and a growing market share that provides benefits to business owners, customers and employees in the Capital Region. Winner - Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros - Professor, Senior Vice President and CEO, College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering of the University at Albany

Large Manufacturer, for a company with at least four years of progressive international trading and gross sales of more than $20 million. Ducommon AeroStructures New York, Inc. - Paul Burton, Vice President of Operations
