The Automatic S.E.A.M. Saw is engineered to automatically cut can Double Seams precisely and efficiently, giving you a clear image for highly reliable visual inspection and analysis with auto S.E.A.M.scan SPC or other seam inspection systems. Once the cut has been made, the saw automatically indents the remaining portion of the can to safely expose the double seam. This automatic seam cutter features a rugged design that will provide you with years of quiet, trouble-free performance with virtually no maintenance.
Simply place the can into the Automatic S.E.A.M. Saw and close the access door to initiate cutting; safe and effective automatic Double Seam cutting requires little or no operator training. The technician’s hands do not touch the can while the blades or cutters are in motion, resulting in a "hands off" operation and making the product the safest in the industry.
The Automatic S.E.A.M. Saw uses two parallel blades, one mounted to cut along the diameter of the can, to make the cross-section without chattering, distorting or changing hook lengths. The distance between the blades can be changed to suit various slot width requirements. This provides an accurate radial slot, free from distortion, and with minimal burr, for use in Double Seam imaging and measurement.
By accommodating a range of can diameters from 200 – 603 (50mm – 153mm), composite cans, plastic bowls, aerosol cans, and even non-round cans, the Automatic S.E.A.M. Saw also offers exceptional versatility. Our unique drop-in tooling – a customized horizontal chuck – can be changed in seconds, and allows for easy operation.
