The Easy-Open End Pop and Tear Tester tests the force required to pop and tear open Easy-Open Ends. An onboard microcontroller allows each easy open end test to be pre-programmed into the tester. Simply insert the can end, hook the chain onto the pull tab, and press one button on to start the tester. During the pop and tear test, the microcontroller scans the force values and automatically saves the pop force and maximum tear strength. The new touch screen interface makes this Easy-Open End Pop and Tear Tester easier than ever.
Once the pop and tear tester is finished, the test values may be sent to a computer, printed, or stored in the onboard memory. When using the optional Display IV Software, the complete force curve may be evaluated; showing each step as the easy-open can end goes through the pop and tear test.
Each easy-open can end diameter requires its own holder. Holders for rectangular can ends, beverage can ends, seamed can ends and tab rotation are also available.
The Easy-Open End Pop and Tear Tester is recommended for use with Display IV Software, or may be used with other data acquisition software.
