The unit is a composite device for axial load and implosion (panelling) testing of small 3-piece cans up to a maximum load of 5000 N. The user may switch between both test types by pressing a key. All measured values may be stored, deleted, printed, or transmitted to an external computer or printer.
This part of the unit serves to evaluate the maximum axial load on cans in kg, N, or lbs; pneumatically/hydraulically operated elevator with 4 column guide with ball bearings; electronic reset of the zero point; minimum load setting; lifting speed regulation. Can height adjustment for different can heights is done with caps and spacers.
This part of the unit serves to measure the implosion force resistance of cans; the empty seamed can is placed in a pressure chamber and pressure is applied externally; the increase in pressure can be regulated with a choke; the maximum pressure which causes the can to implode can be read in the display; a safety valve and the electronics secures the device at a level of 4 bar.
Quick-Fill™ is a unique time saving feature designed to decrease test time while maintaining the accuracy of the test. Testers with Quick-Fill™ can rapidly increase the test pressure from atmosphere to a preset amount. Once at the starting pressure the tester automatically reduces the fill rate to maximum accuracy.
